Clove Maple Sugar
Cloves (syzygium aromaticum) are the unopened flower buds of an evergreen tree. These little spikes were so revered in Indonesia in the 1600’s that the Dutch traded Manhattan to the British in exchange for the Indonesian islands where the spice was most prolific. Often used in magic rituals, cloves can be burned like incense to invoke prosperity and protection. Its scent is also said to assist in bringing the subconscious to the foreground for greater self-understanding.
Here, whole cloves have been ground and mixed into maple sugar.
Medicinally, cloves are a great antibacterial or digestive aid. They are also rich in antioxidants.
How to Use: Add to mulled wine as a sweetener, your favorite granola, or use as a sugar alternative in your favorite cookie recipe.
